Television host, MC, board director, businesswoman and mentor, proud Wiradjuri woman Mayrah Sonter has always powered towards success, a genuine role model helping to inspire a younger generation of Aboriginal people.
Energetic, motivated and passionate, Mayrah is a cultural ambassador who proudly boasts her Redfern upbringing and has seized opportunities and blazed a trail in the media and now in business as a Director of 33 Creative, an Aboriginal Media, Communications and Events Company based in Sydney.
Mayrah sits on the Board of the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), the National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Association (NAISDA) and the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO). She is also a member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Panel for the City of Sydney, is a MURRA Indigenous Business Masterclass alumni and co-founder of Indigenous Business Month, held in October each year. Mayrah was awarded the 2014 Endeavour Fellowship for Indigenous Australians to undertake research in the US in First Nations Media.
Through her work and volunteering, Mayrah takes an active role in contributing to community leadership, and using her experience in business, media and community engagement to mentor and support young Indigenous people.
