Helen is a Wadjuk woman and a Noongar Traditional Owner with cultural and family links throughout Western Australia. She has been living and working in the Pilbara for the past 7 years and has made Karratha her home. Her career spans 3 decades across a range of Industry sectors including Private enterprise, NGO’s, Government, Construction, Oil & Gas sectors to Business Owner. She has a BA in Training and Development and is a certified Trainer and Assessor.
Helen is responsible for building and maintaining cooperative relationships between the Pilbara Aboriginal communities, Sodexo and Woodside in locations where Sodexo operates to ensure that Sodexo’s commitment to Indigenous engagement is delivered in an equitable and beneficial manner.
More recently she was appointed Indigenous Business Manager for IFMS. In this role she works across two of Sodexo’s portfolios in Oil & Gas and Mining. Her role is to work with Pilbara Aboriginal Business within the Pilbara to ascertain capacity and capability against the scope of works in order to secure opportunities. Her work has been instrumental in the development of Sodexo’s procurement process from engagement through to prequalification.
Before joining Sodexo in April 2015 she was employed as the Coordinator of Aboriginal Participation on the Gorgon Project for 4 ½ years. She was responsible for the Aboriginal business and employment outcomes aligned to the clients (Chevron) Social Impact Management Plans with the government and native title commitments. Prior to this role she was engaged on the Pluto Project with the EPCM as Indigenous Contract Administrator and Mentor where she was responsible for the coordination of Woodside’s work Ready Programs and overseen Contractor Indigenous Engagement.
