CEO - Old Ways, New
Angie Abdilla is a Trawlwoolway woman and the Founder and CEO of Old Ways, New. Her peer-reviewed, journal published research on Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence created the foundations for the social enterprise, Old Ways, New.
Angie leads the team of Indigenous consultants and technologists, developing social and environmental sustainability for the private and public sectors and Indigenous peoples and communities through integrated research, service design, and the development of deep technologies – all informed by Indigenous Traditional Knowledges.
Old Ways, New represent the future states of technologies through United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. Angie is a Fellow of The Ethics Centre and previously, was the Director of the Indigenous Digital Excellence (IDX) initiative as part of the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence and prior, was known as an acclaimed film Director for her immersive film and cross-disciplinary arts works. Angie continues to utilise culture and the craft of storytelling as the central component of all her work.
